Our second project, a yet to be titled film about inner city cops in Cleveland, explores what is happening due to government and the private sector ignoring inner city problems. The rise of the sale and use of crack cocaine, heroin and PCP, and the violence that accompanies it, is an issue that is effecting every major metropolitan area in the country.
This movie utilizes the perspective of inner city policeman, detectives, and commanders as its primary source. What cops see and have to deal with on the streets of our cities is disturbing. It is a reality that most suburban and rural people would rather not see, or discuss. The combination of poverty, a lack of investment towards the new global economy, the complete failure of the public schools, and an increasing lack of respect among our youth for authority has created a violent downward spiral for cities like Cleveland. We interview cops, citizens attempting to create change in their blighted communities, politicians, prosecutors, judges and defense attorneys in an attempt to create a complete picture of what is happening, how the community is responding, and what forces are at work undermining various attempts to rectify this dire situation.
